As an online investment platform licensed as Crowdfunding Recognized Market Operators by the Securities Commission Malaysia, MyStartr is obligated to request that you certify and later recertify that you belong to one of the investor categories defined by the Securities Commission (fully described below) before authorizing you to make an investment.
This process is referred to as "self-declaration" and is a legal mandate that must be adhered to before accessing investor materials and information. All MyStartr members must complete self-certification once every 12 months (and will receive prompts accordingly). However, you also have the option to change your investor category and undergo self-certification again via your profile settings at any time. You can find instructions on how to do so here.
